Canada votes at three levels — federal, provincial and municipal — and there is almost always a campaign running somewhere in the country. This hub is The Canadian Post’s home for all of it: federal elections and byelections, provincial votes from British Columbia to Atlantic Canada, and major municipal contests including Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Ottawa and Montreal. How voting works in Canada: Federal elections are run by Elections Canada. You must be a Canadian citizen, 18 or older on election day, and able to prove your identity and address. You do not need to be registered in advance — you can register at the polls — but registering early gets you a voter information card and a faster check-in.
